</div>
I was introduced to Copic Markers about 5 years ago. I tried them and decided they were just too much work. Recently I decided to take some online classes from Joanne Sharpe and she showed how to use the Copic Markers. It was a huge investment but I decided to take the leap and learn. It takes hours and hours of practice but the end result is worth all the work. Here are some of the cards that I colored and sent to Operation Write Home. It is so nice to be back cardmaking, I really missed it. All three stamps came from Outlines Rubber Stamps.<br />

I love things to pop on a card, it gives the card added dimension and the effect is worth the time it takes to cut the image. The best thing to own are a pair of very sharp detail scissors an also a sharp x-acto knife and cutting mat. <br />
<br />
One of my favorite stamp companies has always been Outlines Rubber Stamps just for that reason, lots of cutting and bling (can't forget the bling) must have bling. If I can't use glitter I use gems, pearl pens are great too. I was really sad when Outlines went out of business. Their website and samples are still some of my favorite. I get rid of stamps all the time but very rarely get rid of Outlines because you can always do something different with them. These first two cards are Outlines stamps. The poppy is from Hero Art and the horse if from Stampabilities. The joy saying is from Hero Art and the other saying is from Tim Holtz.<br />

</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Back when I worked at Wingdoodle I did several parties for Operation Write Home making cards for the service men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan. My son is full time Army and was in Korea last year and is now stationed in Colorado Springs. My daughter is Army National Guard here in New Hampshire and leaves for Afghanistan in February. I have decided to get back into card making after taking the last year off after getting laid off because the store closed. Operation Write Home seemed the perfect thing to get involved in again. <br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zEfvzJNOIRc/UKFs9gSaHQI/AAAAAAAAAV4/PFzKz4PMq2Y/s1600/IMG_0852.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="241" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zEfvzJNOIRc/UKFs9gSaHQI/AAAAAAAAAV4/PFzKz4PMq2Y/s320/IMG_0852.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="255" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-I0xYgWae4h0/UKFtDdOfE1I/AAAAAAAAAWA/eyRiYbMLw3Q/s320/IMG_0853.JPG" width="320" /></div>
<div>
I decided to start doing the sketch challenges on their blog http://operationwritehome.org/sketch-challenge-146/ it really does help your creativity. Guy cards are really hard to make sometimes but I thought using the browns worked well making it look masculine and the blues, lavenders and butterflies made the same layout look feminine. </div>

Their whimsical stamps made especially for cutting and layering have always inspired me along with their use of crystals. I love bling. For the last 9 years I have looked forward to their new designs, released 3 or 4 times a year. I get rid of a lot of my stamps after awhile but never my Outline stamps because they were continually using them. They are great for coloring and also for Zentangle.
Anyway, they are going out of business and that makes me really sad. <br />
<br />
They will still be at the following shows though:<br />

<br />
My niece Britney asked me to make vintage seating tags and table numbers for her wedding reception. It was a beautiful wedding all done in cream and brown with a hint of sage. I wanted the tags to also be keepsakes so I included pictures of Britney and Josh with the date of the wedding on the back. <a href="http://creativejourney-sherree.blogspot.com/2012/01/notes-of-love.html">http://creativejourney-sherree.blogspot.com/2012/01/notes-of-love.html</a><br />
<br />
I decorated #5 tags and then used #1 tags attached at the top with the names and the table number. My handwriting is terrible and I didn't want to use all the ink in my printer so I bought table numbers from Michael's and then tore the numbers out and distressed the torn edges with vintage photo distress ink. They are attached using mounting tape to a #8 tag that was distressed and embossed in black with a vintage bike. The tag is free standing using the an easel cut from Tim Holtz Alterations small easel die. I had to reinforce the easel with a little scotch tape and attached them to the back of the tag with red line tape. I used different fibers, dyed tulle and ribbon for the tops of the tags. I dyed the tulle and ribbon with distress ink reinker and Perfert Pearl mist. <a href="http://creativejourney-sherree.blogspot.com/2011/11/coloring-your-own-ribbon-and-trim.html">http://creativejourney-sherree.blogspot.com/2011/11/coloring-your-own-ribbon-and-trim.html</a><br />
<br />
I live in New Hampshire and the wedding was in Florida so I mailed everything down and really didn't know how it was going to look. My brother Pat built the ladders and the tags are attached to twine with little clothes pins. Everything turned out just beautiful and all the work was well worth it. The whole wedding was perfect. Thank you to my sister Trinette for taking the pictures.<br />
<br />
Congratulations Britney and Josh! <br />

<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uKf_7sojdIA/TzQz6v69IHI/AAAAAAAAASU/5d6vws98hPY/s1600/IMG_4920.JPG"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uKf_7sojdIA/TzQz6v69IHI/AAAAAAAAASU/5d6vws98hPY/s400/IMG_4920.JPG" /></a> </div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: CENTER;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
I use to look at things at craft and art shows and think I can do that. Well, I am here to tell you it isn't all that easy. I have been trying to transition from just doing cards and tags to doing canvases and my failures are more then my successes. I worked for 2 days off and on last week on a canvas that I finally just threw in the garbage I was so discouraged. I was trying to do something that felt like Valentine's Day and instead kept getting something that looked like someone got stabbed and bled all over it. I decide to try going in another direction and not use any red. It still doesn't look like Valentine's Day but I am happy with the results. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Once I decided what colors to use everything just sort of happened. I used an Impression Obsession cover a card stamp with Distress Ink Spun Sugar and clear embossed it for the stripped background. The flower is made with some lace I gathered with needle and thread and hot glue gunned the pearl button in the middle. If you go to Pinterest there are hundreds of ideas for making flowers.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The cage and bird are Tim Holtz's as are the hanging pearls, saying, and inks. I am a big fan of his ideas and techniques. I used texture fades to give the cage and bird some texture and painted them white and distressed it with Pumice Stone Distress Ink. The saying is mounted on some foam core so that it is dimensional and then hot glued to attach it to the canvas. I did the same thing with the bird in the cage. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I'd bought some feathered picks at Christmas with no idea as to what I was going to do with them. My friend Adele saw them and mentioned using them for tail feathers and I thought that was a great idea. They are attached with tacky glue. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I thought this would look really cute in a baby girls room and that is why I picked the saying I did. My son and daughter make my life big even though they aren't little anymore.</div>

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LKXOwESHqyw/TyhxwF7wvnI/AAAAAAAAASI/yFPBscToZVg/s1600/IMG_4926.JPG"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LKXOwESHqyw/TyhxwF7wvnI/AAAAAAAAASI/yFPBscToZVg/s400/IMG_4926.JPG" /></a> </div>
I have decide to just grab the bull by the horns and go for it. I don't really know what I am doing but decided I am going to start doing it anyway. It is not as easy as it looks to get something that looks like this. This was my 4th attempt to do something I really liked and wouldn't be scared to show some one without getting a puzzled look as to what it was. I played with molding paste and stencils today. It was so much fun and surprising to see what layers of paper, paint and colored molding paste could create. Molding Paste is really easy to use and you can get tons of texture on your project. I was scared of using different art products because I didn't know what to do with them. What you do is read the directions and watch videos of other people using them. I have decided to be fearless this year and try all kinds of medias. First I am going to play with the molding paste some more though. As I mentioned in a previous blog I am making tags for my niece Britney's wedding reception. I finally have one completely done. The small tag can be taken off and the larger tag can be kept as a keepsake with Britney's and Josh's picture on it. You can't see it in the photo but their names and dates are printed on the bottom of the photo.<br />

I guess the weather has just put me into a Zentangle kind of mood. I liked how this Zentangle came out and decided to call it Pluma. I think of it as a cross between plumage and ferns with a upside down heart on top.<br />

<div style="clear: both; text-align: CENTER;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
I haven't really posted anything since the beginning of January. I was recovering from the holidays. I have also undertaken a task of love for my niece. She asked me to make seating tags for her wedding and also the table numbers. So I have been busy with that project which I will post pictures of when I have a tag completely done. Most of them are partially done. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I decided today that I needed a little creative release so decided to do a Zentangle. It also helps to loosen up the creative juices. It seems at times we get stuck in what I call a creativity rut. It is very cold outside and even though winter hasn't hit us here in New Hampshire to hard yet I am thinking spring. Traditional Zentangle is black and white so I thought I would use the new Zentangle that was posted from Rick and Maria done my Diane LaChance (who I know from working at Wingdoodle) called Parasail - Z. My Parasails still need a little practice but it was fun creating this whimsical take on spring. Enjoy.<br />
<br />
PS. The rose bud pattern comes from <a href="https://www.facebook.com/pages/Doodle-Daze-Designs-Zentangles/146843615370106">https://www.facebook.com/pages/Doodle-Daze-Designs-Zentangles/146843615370106</a></div>

Today we had another tag party get together. It was so much fun and I really enjoyed seeing every one's work. The only one who didn't get any tags done was me. I did get parts of tags done but nothing completed. Here are the tags that Adele, Melissa, Mary and Terry finished. Thank you every one for coming and sharing. <br />

I was looking at tags people have posted on Pinterest and came across a beautiful tag that lead me to this blog <a href="http://thefunkiejunkie.blogspot.com/2011/09/challenge-12-tags-of-christmas-funkie_24.html">http://thefunkiejunkie.blogspot.com/2011/09/challenge-12-tags-of-christmas-funkie_24.html</a>. I love the look she achieved and wanted to do something like it. Her whole blog has beautiful samples on it. I put a link on the side to the Funkie Junkie, go check it out.<br />
<br />
I used the rock candy crackle paint on the tag and then the vintage photo over it. I also took inspiration from Tim Holtz's tag #1 by using the pine cone and the NOEL die cut. I also used the technique with the glassine paper and alcohol ink and cut the holly from Alterations Holly and branch die. I used the glossy accents to seal the top so I could put the Picket Fence Distress Stickles over it and the brown from the tag wouldn't seep through and make it dirty snow. I love heating the Distress Stickles because it bubbles and puffs up so you can get cool looking snow. <br />

<div style="clear: both; text-align: CENTER;">
I used the fragment pieces for this tag and did the technique Tim Holtz's used on tag #5. I had some musical note paper so I put that on the grungeboard and die cut it with the deer die. I am happy with the results.</div>SherReehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02458180201218380453noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5078955493051817951.post-17643451334230508922011-12-11T19:29:00.001-08:002011-12-11T19:48:23.604-08:00Tag Party Part 1<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

With all the inspiration provided by Tim Holtz' 12 Tags of Christmas nine of us got together today to create Christmas tags at the Telephone Museum in Warner, NH. We had food, wine, exchange of ideas and lots of sharing of our stashes. Next week we will meet again to make more tags inspired by the 12 Tags of Christmas. </div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I did the background last night for this tag last night. I was disappointed how it turned out so decide to go back to it today. When I first did the background on this tag I had visions of it looking totally different. I used a metallic gold for the leaves but it looks tan because of the clear embossing powder. Now I know if I want something to look tan just use gold and put clear embossing powder on it. I think that's how most of use learn to do different things with different products. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This afternoon I went back to the tag and it all came together for me. I didn't have the candle stick so I used the Alterations pine tree and the deer. I didn't do much to the reindeer other then the canvas and the wire around it's neck. I think the wire stuff around the neck really set the whole tag off. I am glad I went with my instincts and purchased it. When I bought it I had no idea what I was going to do with it. </div>
<div style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
On the tree I used the Distress pine green, rock candy crackle which when I heated right away bubbles and melts so it looks like snow. I use a little of the snow cap white Distress paint and then put a little of the new Distress Stickles picket fence over that. When you heat up wet grungepaper it curls and buckles and I like the effect for the tree. I put cream colored lace and pearls on the bottom. The string around the trunk I colored with a Distress walnut ink pad. I also dyed the ribbon with the new Distress evergreen and gold perfect pearls and water. The flourish is the mini flourish and gold paper. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The Noel is from K & Company and the stamp for the background is from Impression Obsession.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: CENTER;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
</div>SherReehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02458180201218380453noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5078955493051817951.post-75687910343481549392011-12-10T07:45:00.000-08:002011-12-10T07:55:28.982-08:00My Version of TH Tag # 1<div style="margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qaVca57ub_E/TuN-sU2Gp1I/AAAAAAAAAOE/yDVOpZUQ_Jk/s1600/IMG_4920.JPG"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qaVca57ub_E/TuN-sU2Gp1I/AAAAAAAAAOE/yDVOpZUQ_Jk/s400/IMG_4920.JPG" /></a> </div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: CENTER;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
So I am doing my tags a little out of order but that's OK. I like the silver and blue that Tim Holtz used in his first tag so used his color theme. I used several techniques from later tags. I just love the holly out of the glassine. I did it with blues instead of greens and I did the Joy with the grungeboard Alpha set and glossy accents. Again I used the gesso on black paper with alcohol inks for the background that I posted previously, it looks like winter wind. </div>
</div>SherReehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02458180201218380453noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5078955493051817951.post-9813986286549420432011-12-09T13:26:00.001-08:002011-12-09T13:53:29.437-08:00Wonderful Christmas in Purple, Gold and Green<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I had to use the background I made when I posted the previous project tag so I decided to use the deer from Tim Holtz tag # 2. The holly leaves are colored with alcohol ink on kraft glassine and cut from the holly branch die. I had some white glitter paper so I cut 2 mini flourishes from it and colored one with twilight purple alcohol ink, the bell is also die with the alcohol ink. The directions for the background are in the previous post <a href="http://creativejourney-sherree.blogspot.com/2011/12/christmas-in-raspberry-green-and-gold.html" style="text-align: -webkit-auto;">http://creativejourney-sherree.blogspot.com/2011/12/christmas-in-raspberry-green-and-gold.html</a></div>SherReehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02458180201218380453noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5078955493051817951.post-40139331613758679662011-12-08T17:21:00.001-08:002011-12-09T10:09:07.153-08:00Christmas In Raspberry, Green and Gold<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I was going through some stuff looking for extra grungeboard and came across a background I had done. It was for a class I taught on alcohol inks last spring. The background technique was taught to me by a friend who is a calligrapher. I have been wanting to do something in nontraditional Christmas color and loved the green, gold and pink background I'd done on this tag and decided it fit the bill as nontraditional.<br />
<br />
Tim Holtz Tag #7 from his 12 tags of Christmas was one of my favorites. I used Tim's technique for making the holly with the kraft glassine paper and I liked the layout he used for his tag <a href="http://timholtz.typepad.com/my_weblog/2011/12/12-tags-of-christmastag-7.html">http://timholtz.typepad.com/my_weblog/2011/12/12-tags-of-christmastag-7.html</a> but after that it is pure me.<br />
<br />
Supplies:<br />
Heavy black Watercolor paper<br />
Gesso<br />
Pieces of heavy card board cut it into a scraping tool with different tips and widths<br />
Alcohol inks at least one metallic<br />
Alterations holly die<br />
Alterations mini flourish<br />
On the Edge border die<br />
3 gold bells<br />
Gold Dabber<br />
Gold embossing powder<br />
Assorted ribbons, twill<br />
wire<br />
Angel button with back cut off<br />
Stamp with saying.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qiOomZjjyQw/TuH3swhZ4wI/AAAAAAAAAL4/-DsrGZAoYp4/s1600/IMG_4922-1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qiOomZjjyQw/TuH3swhZ4wI/AAAAAAAAAL4/-DsrGZAoYp4/s200/IMG_4922-1.JPG" width="191" /></a></div>
<br />
I found working on long strips of paper seems to give you more freedom of movement. So I would have my black strips of paper at least a foot long and about a 4 or 5 inches wide. You can cut it into several tags after you are done. Paint gesso onto the black paper with a sponge brush in a thick layer. Before it dries take the tool you have made and drag , swirl, and zigzag through the gesso on the paper in a free flowing movement. When you are satisfied with the results set aside to dry.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oO8VPRI1pG0/TuH5R5LITtI/AAAAAAAAAMI/LBo_G08t95g/s1600/IMG_4946.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oO8VPRI1pG0/TuH5R5LITtI/AAAAAAAAAMI/LBo_G08t95g/s200/IMG_4946.JPG" width="200" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
While the gesso is drying, decide what colors of alcohol ink you would like to use. Adele uses calligraphy inks which have a very bright intense color so you can use those to if you have them. I like the alcohol inks mainly because that is what I own. I put a piece of felt on my handle and I only put one color of ink on at a time. I try and follow the directions of the swipes with my inks and just sort of swish it on. Then I changed the felt and do the same thing with another color. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4GMFTWas6XM/TuH5YMZmVvI/AAAAAAAAAMQ/JedYTPmHEH4/s1600/IMG_4953.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4GMFTWas6XM/TuH5YMZmVvI/AAAAAAAAAMQ/JedYTPmHEH4/s200/IMG_4953.JPG" width="200" /></a></div>
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3lFFwkzLLtI/TuH5twkIP0I/AAAAAAAAAMY/FzLB0w9x_IA/s1600/IMG_4958.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3lFFwkzLLtI/TuH5twkIP0I/AAAAAAAAAMY/FzLB0w9x_IA/s200/IMG_4958.JPG" width="200" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-M4VTXZKb1U8/TuH6kJ25G2I/AAAAAAAAAMo/yqa1db4SV_c/s1600/IMG_4969.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-M4VTXZKb1U8/TuH6kJ25G2I/AAAAAAAAAMo/yqa1db4SV_c/s200/IMG_4969.JPG" width="150" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I put the metallic on last and just do minimal swipes with it. Like all metallic if you use to much it will over take your other colors. Hit it with a heat gun to make sure it is dry.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SrwDKBrhF0k/TuH8EF-FBTI/AAAAAAAAANA/P4USp0b4o1o/s1600/IMG_4973.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SrwDKBrhF0k/TuH8EF-FBTI/AAAAAAAAANA/P4USp0b4o1o/s200/IMG_4973.JPG" width="150" /></a></div>
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-v8ZtcOrLjHM/TuH8aDcxwNI/AAAAAAAAANI/X4nwFMj3hyU/s1600/IMG_4984.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-v8ZtcOrLjHM/TuH8aDcxwNI/AAAAAAAAANI/X4nwFMj3hyU/s200/IMG_4984.JPG" width="124" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Then sand paper it to get the white to show through on the raised dried gesso.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-iS_oa4nXNzI/TuH9vwLe7lI/AAAAAAAAANQ/I81QPXqGinQ/s1600/IMG_4929-1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-iS_oa4nXNzI/TuH9vwLe7lI/AAAAAAAAANQ/I81QPXqGinQ/s200/IMG_4929-1.JPG" width="200" /></a></div>
<br />
I had some gold paper that I adhered to some grunge paper and cut out the mini flourish by Alterations. I sanded it and then distressed it with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Using an On the Edge border die cut an edge and paint gold with the gold dabber. Sand paper it and then take Vintage Photo with a handle and foam and go over the edge.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UlVtS81_jAI/TuH-DXdznqI/AAAAAAAAANY/zNgz8PlNGLU/s1600/IMG_4928-1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UlVtS81_jAI/TuH-DXdznqI/AAAAAAAAANY/zNgz8PlNGLU/s200/IMG_4928-1.JPG" width="170" /></a></div>
<br />
Make your Holly using Tim Holtz technique in Tag #7.<br />
<br />
Stamp your saying and emboss with gold embossing powder and cut out, set aside.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1Tpadz6Pito/TuH-wh8O2mI/AAAAAAAAANg/RJBu9A0XYhA/s1600/IMG_4948.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1Tpadz6Pito/TuH-wh8O2mI/AAAAAAAAANg/RJBu9A0XYhA/s200/IMG_4948.JPG" width="200" /></a></div>
<br />
Put 3 bells on a wire and wrap it around the tulle and ribbon . Cut the wire in the back. Since I want everything to really stick I used a glue gun to put it all together.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MXei4TSEALk/TuH_NxpYnPI/AAAAAAAAANo/9vd-NyF7aRY/s1600/IMG_4937.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MXei4TSEALk/TuH_NxpYnPI/AAAAAAAAANo/9vd-NyF7aRY/s200/IMG_4937.JPG" width="124" /></a></div>
Now you can start putting your tag together. Glue gun the flourish down first, the glue gun the bottom part of the holly and lay them down. Glue gun the back of the tulle, bell piece onto the holly. Then using mounting tape put your saying at the top of the tag. Glue embellishment and attach ribbons.<br />
<br />
You have a beautiful Christmas tag. <br />
<br />
As I have been making tags I have been hanging them on my Christmas tree to enjoy for a short time. Next week I will be putting them in envelopes and mailing them to people.<br />

By far my favorite of all the tags. Lots of steps but the end result was well worth it. </div>SherReehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02458180201218380453noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5078955493051817951.post-8546089275755627782011-12-07T10:36:00.000-08:002011-12-07T10:58:19.296-08:00TH 12 Tags of Christmas #5<div style="margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
So I started working on this tag 2 days ago. I don't have the reflections stamps so I used a distressed flourish for my background. One thing I learned with this technique is to not wipe but blot immediately after you stamp. I wasn't to pleased with things when I started. Nothing seemed to be working but then I left it and came back today to work on it and now I love it. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I used one of the On the Edge borders and painted it gold and adhered it to the bottom. I used the Holly Branch die, Mini Bird die and a branch die I had for the leaf branch. I used bells for the berries and I cut out the word Joy from the big Christmas background stamp. The bird I used Fired Brick Distress Ink to color and then added the Rock Candy distress crackle paint. The holly is stamped with Evergreen Bough Distress Ink on canvas mounted on Grungeboard and cut out. I am very happy with the results now.</div>

If you don't know what to do with all the Zentangles you have done this is a great way to give them purpose and make a wonderful little ornament to keep or give as a small gift. The black flourish is from Alterations Festive Greenery. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />

I really like how this one turned out. I didn't do all the steps Tim did because I didn't have the embossing folder. The making your own custom ink pad it a great technique. I used the Tattered Flower die and Holly Branch die.<br />

The background is scrapbook paper distressed with several blue distress inks and I added a flourish in the corner.The bird cage is cut from glitter paper with the Alterations Caged Bird die cut. I dyed the white glitter snowflake with alcohol ink, added some self-adhesive blue stars and glue gunned on some button snowflakes. I found the best way to adhere the cage was with staples and then I covered them up with the snow flakes. I put mounting tape on the back of the bird.SherReehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02458180201218380453noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5078955493051817951.post-13322978436783698152011-12-04T09:24:00.000-08:002011-12-04T09:24:06.005-08:00My Version of TH Tag #4<div style="margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3lE3wkxSHGE/Ttur5R59c7I/AAAAAAAAAKo/E4c-T4qMWVs/s1600/IMG_0885.JPG"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3lE3wkxSHGE/Ttur5R59c7I/AAAAAAAAAKo/E4c-T4qMWVs/s400/IMG_0885.JPG" /></a></div><div style="clear: both; text-align: CENTER;"><a href="http://timholtz.typepad.com/my_weblog/2011/12/12-tags-of-christmastag-4.html">http://timholtz.typepad.com/my_weblog/2011/12/12-tags-of-christmastag-4.html</a><br />
